![]() ![]() Clear as mud? Keep in mind those speeds are rated with a 370gr arrow. Originally they were known as the 180 and 140 and that was the draw weight instead of the speed rating. Scorpyd decided to release the Nemesis in both a 480 and 420. With the Death Stalker and the Nemesis their speed rating is now listed as the identifying factor. In recent years Scorpyd has really stepped up their game and getting their bows out with more consistent speeds that are obtaining their speed ratings. At times a few folks kicked up their heels because some of the bows didn’t hit that magical speed number. Because speeds were listed as “up to” that was never really an exact science. An example of this would be an Ventilator 150. Most Scorpyd Crossbows were released with multiple limb weights that were identified by those numbers. I know that’s how I bought my first one awhile back and have owned a bunch since then. Because they don’t have a blanket style of a dealer network, you may have to take a leap of faith and purchase one without ever shooting one. ![]() But in all fairness, they make a really nice crossbow that deserves that type of support. Be prepared to defend a negative comment made against Scropyd Crossbows. Search the different crossbow forums on the internet and you’ll see just how rabid their supporters are. They have a rabid fan base with a Scorpyd or bust mentality. They are 100% designed and built in the good ole USA. I like to say they are a production bow with a custom bow feel and look. The fit and finish on their bows is impeccable. They are one of the best kept secrets in the industry. You may know about Scorpyd Crossbows but have never handled or shot one. You can shoot the fastest bows on the planet and hit the bulls eye every time. Their products are known for speed along without giving up shoot-ability. So who is Scorpyd and what is this Nemesis?
